NEW DELHI, Dec 17: Dr M L Dogra, an Indian theatre multi faceted personality and scholar from Jammu, known for bringing creative Dogri and Hindi theatre musical plays internationally, was honored with “International Excellence Award-2023” for his outstanding contribution in Performing Art and Education.
He was presented the award by Justice Kurian Juseph, former Judge of the Supreme Court of India, during the International Empire Award event by Kites Kraft Production LLP, Global Chamber of Consumer Rights, at New Delhi.
The main objective of the International Excellence Awards is the celebration of excellence platform for networking and a source of inspiration for those committed to making a difference in their business and education spheres, reputation and delivering exceptional experiences.
Dr Dogra has created over three dozen Dance drama spectacles which represent the ethos and aspirations of the society. In his contribution to theatre, he has written more than 150 lyrical Plays, many books, articles for newspapers on cultural heritage of India and more than 2000 songs & recorded in Dogri and Hindi languages.
He is also running Music Center of Bhatkhande Sangit Vidyapith, Lucknow Gharana and Computer Institute for various subjects (under National Urban Rural Computer Mission) where more than 100 students learn free Hindustani Classical music and Computer education every year. He has also designed and constructed cultural tableaux on various Government themes for National celebration program.
Born at Seen Thakran village in Udhampur district, Dr Dogra has been decorated with 29 awards from the Government and other renowned nationally and internationally organizations.
