JAMMU, Dec 18: Eyes Wide Open a book written by Ranjna Raina was released at a grand function organised by Vomedh at Abhinav Theatre this afternoon.
A galaxy of intellectuals, writers, artists, social activists besides prominent people attended the function in which Maj TKN Chari, a war veteran was the chief guest. She extended kudos to Ranjna for this book and remarked that the book is going to be of immense value to Kashmiris across the world, to historians, to students and scholars of Kashmir and to the policy makers.
She said the book describes the story of Tricolour at Lal Chowk. The Tiranga at Lal Chowk has caught the imagination of not only Kashmiris, but of every Bharatiya and the entire world lately. Fluttering Tri Colour at Lal Chowk swells one’s pride and more so for anyone who has seen in the past how the same place was used for it’s denigration just to humiliate the nationalists and to strengthen the forces inimical to the idea of India, she added.
She said the book throws light on change in Kashmir Valley which is palpable and this all was due to neutralization of Article 370. The masses have shown considerable stake in peace and all this is very well documented in this book by the author, she added.
She said the author has given first hand account of the developments happening around Srinagar from last two years especially due to Abrogation of Article 370.
A multi cultural entertainment programme was organised by the Vomedh group led by Rohit Bhat. A medical camp was organised by Anita Chandpuri, Pradeep and Sanjay Koul with the help of M/S Arsalan which makes innovative motorised contraptions for wheel chairs and BMVSS who are world famous philanthropists committed to extend free services to disabled.
