ANTF arrests 2 inter-state drug peddlers

JAMMU, Dec 19: Two inter-state drug peddlers were arrested by Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) with Novitas cough syrup and Etizolam tablets in commercial quantity from Railway Station Jammu here today.
An ANTF spokesperson said that Naresh Kumar Verma and Balwinder Chug of New Delhi were arrested with 136 bottles of the Novitos cough syrup and 100 tablets of Etizolam.
They were travelling in a WagonR car when they were trapped and arrested by a team of ANTF Jammu led by Inspector Ankush Chib, under the guidance of Shamsher Singh, DySP ANTF J&K, and overall supervision of SSP ANTF J&K, Raj Kumar.
According to the ANTF spokesperson, the duo has been booked in case FIR number 15/2023 under sections 8/21/22/219 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station ANTF Jammu and further investigation started.
Meanwhile, the ANTF Jammu has requested the general public particularly the youth to stay away from drugs. They have also sought cooperation from the public in identifying the miscreants selling drugs to the youth. The ANTF has promised to keep the identity of the informant confidential.
