JKHCBAJ felicitates HC Judges elevated from Bar to Bench

JAMMU, Dec 19: J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu today felicitated Justice Rajnesh Oswal, Justice Rahul Bharti, Justice Moksha Khajuria Kazmi and Justice Wasim Sadiq Nargal, who were elevated from the Bar because of their significant achievements as advocates.
The felicitation was done in the presence of Chief Justice N Kotiswar Singh and Justice Tashi Rabstan, senior-most judge of the High Court. Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar and Law Secretary Achal Sethi were also present on the occasion.
The event began with a minute’s silence in prayers for peace and in respect of member-advocates who left for heavenly abode in recent past.
Speaking on the occasion, Bar President raised the demands including provision for Display Boards in the lawyers-chamber building and the Ladies Bar Room in District Court Complex, Jammu, for the facility of majority of member-advocates. He also stressed that area under the dome in the District Court Complex needs to be refurbished with fresh furniture to make it a worth sitting-place for the professionals.
Sharma highlighted the problems being faced by the weakened members facing medical-emergencies on account of choking of the funds, and sought indulgence of the High Court to provide necessary financial help to the needy advocates in such medical emergencies.
In his address, Chief Justice was prompt in recognizing the demands raised by the President of Bar Association and assured that immediate steps will be taken by the High Court to mitigate these genuine grievances, including formation of a committee to work out the modalities at the earliest.
The Chief Justice congratulated the Bar team for organizing such a wonderful event which certainly enhances the rapport between the Bar and the Bench.
The vote of thanks was presented by Amit Gupta, Vice President. Parvesh Singh Salaria General Secretary, Chetan Misri Joint Secretary and Utkarsh Pathania Treasurer ensured the smooth conduct of the event.
