JAMMU, Dec 19: Jammu University unit of National Secular Forum today paid tribute to Saheed Ram Prasad Bismil and Ashfaqulla Khan on their 96th death anniversary.
During a simple function in this regard at the University Campus, NSF activists garlanded the portrait of the sons of the soil.
Dr Vikas Sharma, Coordinator Jammu District Urban, and Zonal Secretary, JKNC, was the chief guest and T R Sharma presided over the function.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Vikas Sharma threw light on the life and supreme sacrifices of Ram Prasad Bismil and Ashfaqulla Khan. He appreciated the initiative taken by the NSF member to recall the supreme sacrifice of great freedom fighters and said that the real tribute to the martyrs would be eradicating evils from the society.
Others, who spoke on the occasion, included Vikshay Vashist, Abhishek Uppal, Mohd Umar Farooq, Roshan Sharma, Arun Kumar, Aditya Kargotra and Aditya Khajuria.
