21 animals burnt alive as cattle shed gutted in fire

UDHAMPUR, Dec 20: In an unfortunate incident, 21 domestic animals were burnt alive when a cattle shed caught fire and got completely gutted at village Surni in tehsil Ramnagar.
Reports said that the fire broke out during the intervening night of December 19-20 at the animal shed, owned by Yodhu Ram, son of Lakhu, resident of Surni.
Before the owner and locals of the village could control the fire, the cattle shed was completely gutted resulting into death of four cows, four oxen , two calves and 15 sheep, which got buried under the debris.
The local villagers have appealed the Government to give compensation to poor Yodhu Ram while Police have registered a case and initiated further inquiry into the matter.
