VBSY touches diverse communities across Jammu and Kashmir

JAMMU, Dec 21: The ongoing Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra unfolded as a comprehensive initiative across Jammu and Kashmir today, touching diverse communities, showcasing individual success stories, and promoting awareness and implementation of Government schemes for holistic development.
The Yatra reached a significant milestone in Mearth Panchayat, Kathua, presided over by Union Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Ayush, GoI, Kavita Garg. The event distributed Kisan Credit Cards and emphasized the positive impact of the Yatra in peripheral areas.
Addressing the enthusiastic gathering, Joint Secretary, Kavita Garg expressed her delight over the growing momentum the yatra has gained in the peripheral areas of Kathua District.
She emphasized the profound positivity reflected in the firsthand feedback received from beneficiaries, underscoring the impactful transformation brought about by the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra in the lives of the people.
In Panchayat Muthi Maira of Bhalwal Brahmana Block in Jammu District, a special van arrived amid high enthusiasm from the Swagat Committee, locals, and PRI members.
Commissioner Secretary Rehana Batul presided over a VBSY event, urging people to work for the progress and prosperity of the country after watching the Prime Minister’s video message through the VBSY van.
In Samba District, a run for Viksit Bharat was organised by the NSS Unit (Khidmat) of the Government Degree College Vijaypur.
The run was flagged off by Prof Anita Jamwal, Nodal Officer Viksit Bharat from the college campus towards nearby village and back to campus. Students of the college and NSS volunteers participated in the run with great enthusiasm, passion and zeal.
In Reasi District, the Yatra extended its reach to diverse areas, including Duggar Dhani, Kheral Panchayat in Pouni block, where Commissioner Secretary Mandeep Kaur emphasized the saturation of flagship Government schemes.
In a momentous occasion marked by the celebration of Viksit Bharat, a special message by Prime Minister Narendra Modi resonated with the audience, showcasing ongoing projects and future initiatives.
Secretary, Youth Services and Sports (YSS), Sarmad Hafeez, visited remote Heerpora Panchayat on the Mughal Road in Shopian District as part of the yatra. The rural outreach programme witnessed overwhelming participation of the public, DDC Council members, BDC members, and PRI representatives. Secretary Hafeez administered the pledge of Viksit Bharat among the participants and visited stalls set up by various departments for raising awareness and on-spot service delivery.
Bhupinder Singh’s journey from sales struggler to a thriving entrepreneur in Kathua District is a testament to resilience and the transformative power of financial support through Government schemes. His story unfolded as part of the “Meri Kahani, Meri Zubani” feature during the ongoing Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra. Bhupinder, facing financial constraints in his small business, leveraged the Mudra Loan scheme, witnessing a remarkable turnaround and contributing to the economic growth of Kathua.
In Rajouri District, an Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) van played a crucial role in engaging communities and disseminating knowledge about Government schemes, reflecting a commitment to comprehensive development.
Residents of Gund-Khawaja Qasim Pattan in Baramulla District exhibited exceptional spirit despite freezing temperatures, highlighting the resilience and determination of the people in fostering a vision of a prosperous and self-reliant future.
The Yatra continued its impactful journey, reaching urban areas like Municipal Council Pulwama. Dr Sanket Kulkarni’s presence added significance, emphasizing the integration of healthcare into the developmental narrative.
In Kupwara Town, the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra entered the Sogam block. Several activities unfolded in Panchayats such as Dardepora, Darpora A, Darpora B, Diver A, Diver B, Diver C, Diver D, Doorusa-Wani, Gundimanchar, and Hayatpora.
An innovative “No Helmet, No Fuel” initiative in Anantnag District received widespread admiration for promoting road safety and responsible behavior among riders. Civil Society and general citizens applauded the move for its potential to reduce accidents and elevate overall road safety awareness.
The Department of Library & Information Science, University of Jammu, organised a poster and Mehndi competition as part of the Viksit Bharat@2047 initiative.
The competition was organised to sensitize the participants towards transformation, development and sustainable growth of India as it approaches its centenary year of Independence.
Prof Sangita Gupta, Head of the Department, Department of Library and Information Science, in her address said that the Viksit Bharat initiative is making a significant impact on communities nationwide.
She further added that through poster and mehndi competition under the initiative, the department encourages holistic development and civil engagement.
Government Degree College Chatroo in Kishtwar District also celebrated the “Viksit Bharat” initiative, a comprehensive development program initiated by the Indian Government under the esteemed guidance of College Principal Prof (Dr) Ved Kumar. The event witnessed active participation of 50 enthusiastic students.
Dr Haqnawaz, a Political Science lecturer, in his insightful discourse, shed light on the importance of Viksit Bharat and the pivotal role citizens can play in achieving its ambitious goals by 2047. Emphasizing India’s path towards developed nation status, Dr Haqnawaz highlighted key areas such as per capita income, education, infrastructure, healthcare, and more, urging attendees to conscientiously contribute towards the nation’s advancement.
The Department of English, Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, organized a captivating poetry recitation competition, showcasing the literary talent of students. The event was conducted under the distinguished banner of Viksit Bharat @ 2047, focusing on the theme “The Future Unfolded: My Perspective on India in 2047.”
The gathering was graced by the presence of the college Principal, Prof Minu Mahajan, who delivered an insightful speech, emphasizing the importance of creative expression and the profound impact it holds on envisioning the future of our nation.
