2 days BJP office bearers meet begins today at Delhi

JAMMU, Dec 21: To discuss strategy for next year Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is holding two days national office bearers meeting in New Delhi from tomorrow.
The meeting will be held at Party Headquarters, New Delhi and it will culminate on December 23.
As per sources, besides the national office bearers of the party the presidents and organizational general secretaries of all States and Union Territories will participate in the meeting which will be chaired by BJP national president, J P Nadda.
Sources said that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and some of his senior Ministerial colleagues will also attend the meeting who among others include Home Minister, Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari.
Besides, BJP National general secretary (Org), BL Santosh, its other national general secretaries, secretaries, spokespersons and other national office bearers will also be present
Sources said the poll strategy for coming Lok Sabha elections will be threadbare discussed in the meeting and complete feedback will be sought from the presidents and organizational general secretaries of States and UTs regarding the preparations of the party for coming LS poll.
The flagship schemes and welfare projects of Narendra Modi Government, their implementation and response of the beneficiaries in the States and UTs will also come for discussion and party cadre will be issued instructions to overcome the lapses if any so that the people get full benefit of these schemes.
Sources said the ongoing Viksit Bharat Sankalap Yatra which is being taken out in entire country will also come for the discussion in the BJP office bearers meeting and stress will be made that all areas in the length and breadth of the country be touched so that more and more people get benefit of the public welfare schemes of the Government.
It may be recalled that the Viksit Bharat Sankalap Yatra was started on November 15 with an objective to take the Modi Government schemes to the door steps of the people all over the country. It will culminate on January 26 next year.
Sources said the BJP senior leaders will seek information from the leaders of States and UTs about the progress of the yatra and areas touched by it so far. The meeting will stress party leaders to ensure that more and more people get benefit of the welfare schemes through this yatra.
Sources said the meeting will also decide the strategy of Assembly elections in four States including Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Sikkim which are also going to be held along with Lok Sabha elections in April -May next year. Besides, the probability of holding Assembly elections in J&K may also come for discussion in view of the Supreme Court directives of holding elections in the UT of J&K by September next year.
Sources said the party may discuss all pros and cons of holding early Assembly poll in the UT of J&K in view of SC directives. The indication to this effect was also given by Party general secretary (Org) J&K UT at a meeting in Srinagar while replying to a question that efforts will be made to hold the Assembly poll before September next year in the UT.
Sources said BJP is always ready to hold elections in the UT but final call should come from the Election Commission of India which has to conduct the Assembly poll. As a political party, BJP is ready 24x7x365 for elections, sources added.
Sources said, the meeting will also discuss the outcome of recent Assembly elections in three States including MP, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh and elated with the outcome of these election results in the three States, the party cadres will be asked to go in for Lok Sabha elections in an upbeat mode.
BJP JK UT president, Ravinder Raina and party general secretary (Org), Ashok Kaul are attending the meeting. Dr Narinder Singh who is national secretary of the Party and Ravinder Raina left for Union Capital today to attend the meeting while Ashok Koul who is in Srinagar in connection with party programme will leave early tomorrow to participate in the meeting, sources added.
