Dr Raj Nehru selected for National Award

JAMMU, Dec 22: The Confederation of Indian Universities has selected Dr. Raj Nehru, the Vice Chancellor of Shri Vishwakarma Kaushal University, for the “National Skill-Based Training and Research Award 2023.” He will be presented with this Award at the 20th annual celebration of the Confederation of Indian Universities on December 29 at the India International Centre in Delhi. Dr. Raj Nehru is the founder Vice Chancellor of the country’s first State Skill University and has established an exemplary position for skill education in the country.
He has played a significant role in various national-level committees formed for the standards of skill education and has also contributed to bringing about important changes in education in line with the National Education Policy. Dr. Raj Nehru has achieved significant success in establishing the country’s first Innovative Skill School and has created new employment opportunities by integrating the classroom with industry.
Not only has he fulfilled his role as the founder Vice Chancellor of the country’s first State Skill University, but other states in the country are also following this model of skill education. Dr. Raj Nehru is also credited with starting the “Earn while you Learn” model through on-the-job training, providing students with earning opportunities alongside their studies.
For these innovative initiatives, he has been selected for this award by the Confederation of Indian Universities.
