Several organizations, leaders condemn Poonch terrorist attack; protest against Pakistan

JAMMU, Dec 22: Several political and social organizations as well as their leaders today strongly condemned the yesterday’s Poonch terrorist attack and paid homage to the five Army officials martyred in the attack.
BJP National general secretary Tarun Chugh paid homage to five Army officials who got martyred in a militant attack in Poonch. In a statement, Chugh asked former J&K Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah to stop spreading anti-national narrative. He said instead of standing by the armed forces Farooq is advocating militants through his social media messages. He said Pakistan sponsored forces would be decisively defeated in J&K, but it is time Abdullahs, Muftis and Gandhis stop supporting them.
Kavinder Gupta, senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir strongly condemned the terror attack. In a statement issued today, Kavinder expressed condolences to the families of brave hearts and wished speedy recovery to the injured. He said that whole India stands united against this act of cowardice by the enemy and is determined to give a befitting reply to the terrorists and their mentors across the border. Asserting that Pakistan’s intention to spread unrest in J&K will not be successful, he said that those responsible for the attack on the soldiers will not be spared.
Vishav Hindu Parishad (VHP) staged protest against Pakistan in Poonch. VHP activists burnt effigy of Pakistan and raised slogans in favour of Indian Army and other security forces. The Protestors said that our each child is with Indian Army and other security forces. They urged the Government to eliminate the terrorists at the earliest so that such terror acts do not happen again.
Strongly condemning the terrorist attack, Team Jammu today said it is the right time that Government of India directs the security forces to once again “attack and destroy” terrorist training camps across the border in Pakistan. “Instead of adopting a soft approach towards terrorists, Centre Government should adopt a proactive policy to flush out and eliminate all terrorists operating in different parts of the State,” stated Chairman, Team Jammu while addressing emergent meeting of its members.
While paying tribute to Army personnel who attained martyrdom in the attack, Jamwal expressed sympathies for bereaved family members.
On the call of the Traders Federation Ware House (Nehru Market) Jammu, traders in large numbers took out a candle march from Federation office to Bikram Chowk to pay tribute to the Army Jawans martyred in Poonch attack. Speaking to media during the protest, Deepak Gupta (Federation president) voiced searing concerns about Pakistan’s direct complicity in providing sanctuary to terrorists through its sinister intelligence agency, ISI. He demanded law and enforcement agencies to immediately identify the cowardly terrorists and bring them to justice. He also asserted for a security review to ensure foolproof security in twin districts of Rajouri-Poonch.
Terror attacks in Rajouri and Poonch districts are a clear indication of Pakistani agencies trying to revive terrorism in the areas of Jammu division that were declared terror-free a few years ago. This was stated by Shiv Sena Hindustan J&K president Pt Rajesh Kesri while addressing media persons in Jammu over yesterday’s terrorists attack in Poonch yesterday. He said India should initiate “all possible diplomatic steps” to ensure the complete isolation of Pakistan from the international community. Kesri said culprits behind the attack should be identified and punished for their gruesome action.
The Jammu University unit of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) held a peaceful protest today against the Poonch terrorist attack. The protest took place at the University of Jammu in front of the Dhanvantri Library. ABVP activists led by JU president Sahil Choudhary paid their respects to the fallen soldiers and denounced the cowardly act of terror. Expressing deep condolences to the families of the martyred soldiers, Choudhary also emphasized the need to tackle the root cause of such attacks. “Pakistan’s continued support for terrorism in J&K must be met with unwavering resolve,” he stated.
To protest the Poonch terrorist attack, the workers of Dogra Front & Shiv Sena under the leadership of president Ashok Gupta took out a massive rally in Jammu city against Pakistan and burnt the effigy of the Pakistan Prime Minister as our 5 soldiers martyred in the attack. The Party workers raised slogans against Pakistan. They said war is now the only option to teach Pakistan a lesson. “Holding talks with Pakistan is futile as it has never listened to the language of peace. Time has come to teach Pakistan a lesson,” said Ashok Gupta.
“The dastardly attack on army vehicles in Poonch is a highly deplorable act which clearly shows that Pakistan sponsored terrorists are active and will continue with their nefarious designs to breach the peace and normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir,” said KK Khosa, president of Kashmiri Pandit Sabha Jammu in a statement. He expressed his sympathies with the families of the martyred brave hearts and requested the Government of India to take retaliatory measures to liquidate the attackers. “In fact it’s high time to repeat operations like ‘Sarp Vinaash’ in Hill Kaka in Poonch-Rajouri areas which will help in cleaning these areas once again,” he added.
Mission Statehood J&K (MSJK) president Sunil Dimple today organized an anti-Pakistan rally at New Plot (Jammu) in protest of martyrdom of five Army officials in Poonch terrorist attack. During the protest rally, MSJK activists burnt effigy of Pakistan. Dimple expressed resentment over martyrdom of soldiers and accused proxy BJP Government in the Union Territory for this worrisome situation. He said Central Government has no clear policy against Pakistan which is behind targeted killings in Poonch-Rajouri belt.
