NAFIS enrolment user training programme concludes

JAMMU, Dec 22: The NAFIS enrolment user training programme, conducted at Police Headquarter (PHQ) J&K from the 18th of this month, concluded today with Special Director General of Police Crime J&K, AK Chaudhary, joining the programme as Chief Guest.
Addressing the participants during the valedictory function, AK Chaudhary emphasized the crucial role of fingerprints for law enforcement agencies in investigations.
He highlighted that NAFIS serves as a PAN-India searchable database of crime and criminal-related fingerprints.
He urged the participants to create a high-quality database of NAFIS, adopt the web-based NAFIS application, and incorporate the latest investigation skills in handling criminal cases.
During the event, course participation certificates were distributed among the 51 officers/officials of Jammu & Kashmir Police from Jammu province who participated in the workshop.
The training was designed to equip participants with knowledge of finger print science, laws related to fingerprinting, Criminal Procedure Identification Act-2022, and the digitization & processing of fingerprints in NAFIS Software.
Amarjit Singh, Staff Officer to SDGP Crime J&K; Zaheer Abass, DySP CRB; Jagpal Sharma, DySP (FP Expert), and Gurnam Singh Choudhary, Inspector (FP Expert) NAFIS CRB J&K attended the valedictory function, where feedback from the participants was collected.
