Army conducts smartphone film making course for 40 youth in Kashmir

Srinagar, Dec 22: The Army today collaborated with the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII Pune) to conduct a “Smartphone Film Making Course,” aimed at fostering creativity and skill development among Kashmiri youth.
A spokesperson of the Army did that recognising the power of visual storytelling in today’s digital age, the Army is committed to empowering the youth of Kashmir with valuable skills that not only enhance their creative abilities but also open doors to new opportunities.
He said the course, provided to 40 aspiring filmmakers, equipped them with the knowledge and tools to tell compelling stories using smartphones. “It is a testament to the Indian Army’s commitment to supporting education, creativity, and skill development in regions that benefit from such initiatives,” he said.
“The comprehensive course covered scriptwriting, cinematography, editing, and post-production techniques, all using the convenience of smartphones. Conducted by experienced professionals and mentors from FTII, the spokesperson added, “This pioneering effort aligns with the Indian Army’s broader vision of fostering positive engagement and building bridges within communities,” he said.
