JAMMU, Dec 24: Chairman of All J&K Coordination Committee and All J&K Transport Welfare Association, Ajit Singh today declared that a special ‘Gurmat Samagam’ is being held at Bhagwati Nagar Chowk Jammu on December 26 (Tuesday) to pay homage to the martyrdom of four `Sahibzadas’ (Four sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji) who had sacrificed their lives for the mankind.
The elder two sons Baba Ajit Singh and Baba Jujhar Singh attained the martyrdom while fighting with the Mughal forces in the battlefield at Chamkour. The younger two sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji- Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh, who were of 7 and 9 years age, were martyred by the Subedar Wazir Khan of Sarhind by walling up them alive in the bricks. Both of the great sons preferred death to the religion conversion as the Subedar Wazir Khan of Sarhind tried every trick to pressurize them, firstly luring them of everything to lead the luxurious life and then torturing them mercilessly for three days, but they outrightly declined any luxurious offer and didn’t succumb to the pressure.
Sahibzada Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh set an example of unparalleled and unmatched courage and supreme sacrifices in the world history and became the youngest martyrs of the world. Then in order to take revenge of the cruelty of Subedar Wazir Khan of Sarhind and to teach him a lesson, Baba Banda Singh Bahadur, who was a native of Rajouri (J&K) and baptized by Guru Gobind Singh Ji, conquered Sarhind in 1710 AD and established the Ist Sikh Empire by defeating and uprooting the Mughal empire. He was the Ist Sikh Ruler who framed the laws of justice and became the first ruler in the history who introduced the law of land to tiller.
