VBSY makes significant strides across various Panchayats of J&K

JAMMU, Dec 26: The ongoing Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) has achieved remarkable progress in Jammu and Kashmir with the impactful presence of Special IEC Vans, especially designed for spreading awareness among the people.
Commissioner Secretary, Rural Development Department and Panchayati Raj, Mandeep Kour, today presided over a VBSY program and chaired a Public Darbar at Higher Secondary School in Magam in Budgam district. On the occasion, she inspected stalls, installed by different departments to showcase their products and raise awareness regarding different schemes and flagship initiatives. She also administered Sankalp pledge to the officers and other participants on the occasion. The Commissioner Secretary also listened to the general public and PRIs from different wards and Panchayats of Magam and other blocks of Budgam, who raised their issues and demands. Secretary in RDD and PR, Tariq Ahmad Zargar, Director RDD, Shabir Ahmad Bhat, ADDC Budgam, SDM Beerwah and ACD Budgam were also present on the occasion.
In Jammu district, the VBSY reached several Panchayats including Panchayat Bhatyari (Block Dansal), Jourian Town, Panchayat Battal in Block Kharah Balli, Panchayat Rajpura (Block Marh) and Panchayat Makhanpur Gujjrain. The Yatra IEC van was welcomed with enthusiasm by local officials, students and prominent citizens at all venues. The events featured cultural performances by students, informational stalls from various departments, and free health services. Officials highlighted key Government schemes like Ayushman Bharat Yojana, Kisan Credit Card and Har Ghar Jal Jeevan Mission, addressing queries and providing guidance.
They Yatra reached out to various areas, including Panchayat Mahanpur-A, Nowshera, Chunera, Dhamlar in Tehsil Mahanpur, Derli, Rajwalta, Kah and Kandharnoo in Nagrota Gujroo, as well as Govindsar-A, Dilwan, and Changran in tehsil Kathua of Kathua district. The IEC Van effectively showcased Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Call to Action, aiming to encourage local residents to contribute to the advancement of the nation. The response from the community was overwhelming, with residents enthusiastically embracing the Sankalp pledge, affirming their commitment to the country’s growth and development. DDC Chairperson of Kathua Col Mahan Singh (Retired) led the Yatra through Chunnera, Dhamlad and Mahanpur-A panchayats.
The VBSY witnessed grand welcome in the Municipal areas of Handwara today. A mega event was organized at Chinar Park Handwara where scintillating cultural performances were presented by local artists and students. ADC Handwara Nazir Ahmed Mir inspected the stalls and interacted with beneficiaries of various Government schemes. Services like free health checkups, on-spot facility to get Aadhaar cards issued and also to update existing cards at the venue were offered to the people.
Meanwhile, people in other wards of Handwara Municipal Committee including Banday Mohalla, Herpora, Chopan Mohalla, Shaheen Colony, Khanbal II, Dureshpora, Bagatpora, Kachiwari, Chotipora, Gonipora, Braripora and Braripora II, also accorded a rousing welcome to the Yatra.
A momentous demonstration of unwavering commitment to national progress, Administrator Associated Hospitals, Srinagar Hashmat Ali Yatoo joined the VBSY in Kokernag town of Anantnag district. Yatoo actively engaged with local residents, assessing the progress of various Central Government Schemes in the region. The “Meri Kahani Meri Zabani” sessions allowed individuals to share firsthand experiences, highlighting the real impact of these schemes on their lives. He personally interacted with beneficiaries, presenting certificates for schemes like Svanidhi, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (G) and PM Awas Yojana (U). Appreciation letters were also conferred for notable achievements under Jal Jeevan Mission, PMeGP, and Swachh Bharat Mission.
Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, attended a mega event as part of the ongoing “Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra” at Salani New Bustand in Rajouri district. Apart from overseeing the VBSY, the DC also inspected stalls set up by different departments at the event. He encouraged the public to take full advantage of the diverse range of schemes available, emphasizing the potential benefits for individuals and the collective progress of the community. Participants actively took the Viksit Bharat pledge to demonstrate their commitment to the cause of inclusive development. Assistant Commissioner Panchayat Sheraz Chowhan, Tehsildar Rajouri Varinder Sharma, District Social Welfare Officer Abdul Rahim and several other officers attended the event.
As part of the ongoing VBSY, a special IEC Van reached five more Panchayats of block Kangan (Ganderbal district) today amid a warm welcome by the locals and the PRI members. The Yatra covered Hayan Palpora, Cherwan-A, Cherwan-B, Arigoripora and Chattergul-A Panchayats today. The people present in these panchayts took the Sankalp pledge and expressed their commitment to the cause. During the event, a health camp was also organized by the health department, where free screening for non-communicable diseases was done. Representatives of the line departments explained the various schemes and programmes run by the Government for the public welfare.
The IEC Van today embarked on a mission to illuminate the urban landscape, drawing citizens’ attention to Citizen Centric Schemes (CSS) during the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra in Kishtwar. The van made a significant impact, particularly at Char Chinar of Chowgan Ground and the Main Busstand Kishtwar. Equipped with cutting-edge LED screens and audio-video systems, these vans showcased the recorded message of the Prime Minister, emphasizing the profound impact of CSS and inspiring the citizens for the Vision of Developed India by 2047. Accompanied by dedicated officials, the IEC Vans diligently disseminated Information, Education, and Communication Materials among the people.
The VBSY achieved significant milestones, traversing through Panchayats Dhalpar in Block Jaganoo and Sira-A in Block Latti Marothi of Udhampur district. Utilizing the Viksit Bharat Rath (an IEC van), the Yatra successfully disseminated information about various Government schemes, significantly elevating awareness levels among the masses. Meanwhile, DC Udhampur Saloni Rai conducted a comprehensive meeting at the Conference Hall, DC Office Complex, to assess the VBSY campaign and the saturation of Centrally sponsored Government schemes in the district.
The Yatra is making waves as it enters the final phase in Ramban district, making centrally sponsored schemes more accessible to the local community. Acting as a powerful bridge between these schemes and prospective beneficiaries, the Yatra covered blocks in Ramban, Rajgarh and Ramsoo, making a lasting impact on untouched Panchayats. As the Yatra is in its final stage, only two Panchayats in Ramban district remain untouched.
The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra reached a momentous milestone, expanding its footprint to encompass four additional Panchayats within the Blocks of Reasi district. The efficacy of an IEC campaign was highlighted as a specialized van traversed through four more panchayats, namely Kotli Manotrian-A, Mahore Jamalan, Jij-B, and Saloon. The event venues buzzed with a spectrum of activities, featuring Audio-Video sessions facilitated through IEC Vans equipped with LEDs, creating an interactive platform for disseminating crucial information.
