JKTF delegation calls on Advisor Bhatnagar, lists teachers’ demands

JAMMU, Dec 26: A delegation of Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum, led by its chairman Ganesh Khajuria, called on Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, Advisor to Lt Governor J&K UT and discussed the long pending demands pertaining to the teaching community as well as for the welfare students of Govt Schools.
The delegation submitted a memorandum demanding adjustment of recently promoted Headmasters, filling up the vacancies of Principals, ZEOs, Lecturers, DPC for promotion of Teachers to Masters, transfer of RReT Teachers on marriage and health grounds, especially in the case of female teachers, benefits to the teachers of JK UT at par with teachers of other UTs of the country in terms of salary, allowances ,grade and other emoluments, enhancement in the Medical Allowance of the employees, updation of final seniority list of different PG subjects, implementation of running grades in favour of the Officers of the School Education Department, addressing the issue of shortage of ministerial staff in High Schools, Higher Secondaries, ZEO and CEO offices.
The Forum also demanded removal of pay disparity of Masters, Leave Encashment/Earned Leave for the employees of School Education Department, implementation of Minimum Wages Act for Consolidated Paid Workers (CPW), PM Poshan Cooks, Land donors, Chowkidaars etc working in the department, .creation of Non-Plan posts of Masters working in the erstwhile upgraded SSA schools, removal of pay anomaly of the teachers appointed under SRO 202 during the year 2019, enhancing the quality of printing and published papers of textbook, timely distribution of the textbooks in the beginning of the session, enhancement in the remuneration amount for the school uniforms up to Class 8th, revisiting the Zonation before ATD -2024 and decentralization of the powers for the transfers of the teaching staff.
The Advisor, after patiently listening to all the demands, gave on spot the directions to the concerned authorities and sought suggestions on some issues. He assured Ganesh Khajuria that every genuine demand will be fulfilled in a time bound manner.
