Refresher course for Traffic cops begins at SKPA

UDHAMPUR, Dec 26: A five-day refresher/orientation course for the officers/officials of Traffic Wing of J&K Police commenced today at the Sher-e-Kashmir Police Academy, Udhampur.
Seventeen officers/officials of Traffic wing are participating in the training programme. The course addresses key aspects like Traffic Management and Regulations, Dos and Don’ts for Drivers, Latest Supreme Court Directions on Traffic Management, Types of Vehicle Insurance and Importance of Vehicle Insurance, Motor Accident Claim Tribunal (MACT) cases, Traffic Control devices, Road signs, Road markings, Speed breakers, Traffic signals etc, Helping aids for traffic management, Overview of Motor Vehicle Act & Latest Laws, Tyre impression & Skid marks of Accidental Vehicles- Preventions & Handling of physical evidence in Traffic accident cases, Importance of Registration / Fitness of vehicle in traffic management and Role of RTO in Traffic Management, Traffic Police as Medical First Responder (MFR) etc.
During the inaugural function, SSP Rajinder Kumar Gupta, Dy Director (Indoor), was the chief guest. He welcomed all the participants on behalf of Director SKPA and laid emphasis on the participants’ role as guardians of road safety. He also laid stress to explore into the latest traffic management strategies, technological advancement and collaborated approach to enhance the impact to create safer road for our communities.
Experienced and qualified guest faculty including Kuldeep Bhan, I/C State Pollution Control Board Jammu; faculty from FSL Jammu; ARTO Udhampur, Traffic Wing J&K as well as the academia are being invited to share their vast experience with the participants on different topics.
The course is being coordinated by Inspr Paramjeet Singh, assisted by SI Sukhvir Singh.
