Two cousins shot at by miscreants

JAMMU, Dec 26: Two cousins were injured, one of them grievously when two miscreants opened fire on them with a gun at Bantalab area on City outskirts.
According to the reports, two youth identified as Farman Ali son of Sher Ahmed resident of Thathar (Bantalab) and an Advocate came in a vehicle bearing registration number PB65P-5693 and opened fire on three neighborhood friends when they were warming themselves by lighting a fire near their residences at Ganga Nagar (Bantalab).
The incident occurred at about 11:40 pm on December 24 in which a 27-year-old Mohd Younis son of Fazal Ahmed, sustained grievous injuries as he was hurt by 8-9 gun shots in different parts of his body while his cousin Sadiq Hussain (26) son of Rashid Hussain received minor injury as a bullet hit one of his hands. However, the third youth namely Imran Shah (27) son of Mohd Mubarak Shah, who was reportedly the target of the accused, escaped unhurt.
The injured youth were immediately shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu for medical treatment while a case vide FIR number 377/2023 under relevant sections of law was registered against the two accused at Police Station Domana and efforts were on to nab them as they were on large.
