Only NC can give tough fight to BJP in upcoming polls: Rattan

KATHUA (Budhi), Dec 27: Provincial president of National Conference for Jammu, Rattan Lal Gupta today emphasized that only NC has the capacity to give a formidable challenge to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming polls in Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a public meeting at village Budhi in Jasrota Assembly Constituency today, the senior NC leader highlighted the deep-rooted presence and the grassroots strength of the National Conference. “Our party is fundamentally cadre-based, with a strong foothold at the grassroots level across Jammu and Kashmir,” he stated.
Gupta highlighted the sacrifices made by hundreds of party cadres for the welfare of the people, mentioning the significant historical contributions of the party’s founder, Sheikh Abdullah, who endured several years of imprisonment for his beliefs and actions.
Earlier, Sham Narayan Mehta, District president of Kathua Rural, who organized today’s meeting, briefed the senior party functionaries about the hardships faced by the residents, especially regarding the lack of basic amenities in the Kandi belt. On this occasion Randhir Singh, Naib Sarpanch Lachipora joined National Conference.
Gupta expressed serious concerns over the challenges faced by the people residing in Kandi belt of district Kathua. He pointed out the stark lack of development in the area, with people desperately in need of basic amenities. He emphasized the poor condition of electricity, acute shortage drinking water, roads, streets, sanitation, inadequate healthcare facilities, and the lack of doctors in health centers, illustrating the incumbent government’s seriousness in addressing the needs of the people.
Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, Provincial secretary, JKNC, Jammu and Vijay Lochan, Chairman SC Cell and Pardeep Bali Provincial secretary Jammu stressed the people of the area to strengthen hands of Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah to once again install a Government which is people-centric and considerate towards the problems of the common man.
