7 cattle charred to death in fire incident

UDHAMPUR, Dec 28: Seven cattle including four buffaloes were charred to death as a house caught fire in Sarad area of Latti tehsil today.
Reports said the Kucha house of Joginder Lal and Sudesh Kumar, (both brothers), at Sarad village near Latti suddenly caught fire this evening. In the absence of any Fire and Emergency Service facility within 50 kms of area, the villagers tried to control the fire by pouring water with buckets and other pots but the fire could not be control.
During the incident three cows and four buffaloes of the family were burnt alive while other house hold goods were badly damaged in fire incident. A fire tender was called from Chenani which took about two hours to reach there but by then seven cattle had charred to death and entire house including cattle shed had damaged.
The locals of the area including Sarpanch Lati, Kasturi Lal Gupta, Sarpanch Sirah, and Bup Sarad have urged the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to sanction a Fire Station at Latti for which the Govt land has been identified. They said about 6-7 fire incident took place in the area during last one year and property worth lakhs was damaged in Latti/ Dudu Sub Division.
