JKTJAC holds convention at Reasi, raises issue of NPS employees

REASI, Dec 29: Jammu Kashmir Teachers Joint Action Committee organized one day convention at Reasi under the leadership of District President Balwan Singh while UT President Vinod Sharma was chief guest on the occasion.
Provincial President Rajesh Jamwal, UT Secretary Sukhdev Singh Sumbria, UT Chief Press & Media Secretary Sukesh Khajuria, UT Coordinator Khazan Singh and District President Udhampur Lekh Raj Parihar were special invitees in the convention. The convention was attended by executive members from all the zones of District Reasi.
While speaking on the occasion, Vinod Sharma raised the burning issue of NPS employees of the UT. He said that due to non availability of old pension, these employees of the UT are very much worried about their post retirement lives. ” How can an employee without pensions will be able to meet out the expenses in his old age including medicines? ” he asked and urged the LG administration to come to the rescue of NPS employees of the UT by immediately implementing old Pension Scheme in their favour.
He also highlighted other issues of teaching fraternity which included: Comprehensive transfer policy in favour of teachers appointed under ReT scheme; conversion of headteachers posts into non plan posts of Masters; DPC of Teachers to Masters; enrollment/Post facto permission to Teachers/Masters to enhance their qualifications.
On the occasion, Provincial President Jammu Rajesh Jamwal demanded the conversion of RRETs to Teachers Grade II/ III; regularisation of ReTs who have completed their 5 years ReT period satisfactorily and release of pending Mid Day Meals dues which the teachers have managed from their own pockets.
District President Reasi, Balwan Singh assured full support from District Reasi to JKTJAC leadership.
