JAMMU, Dec 29: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Jammu Kashmir delegation today submitted a memorandum to Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, detailing crucial demands for the education sector in the region.
ABVP State Secretary, Akshi Billowria said that memorandum encapsulates a series of key concerns and recommendations aimed at fostering the growth and development of the education sector in Jammu Kashmir. ABVP highlighted critical issues such as infrastructural improvements in educational institutions, enhancement of teaching quality, provisions for digital learning infrastructure and the necessity for increased educational access across remote areas of the region.
ABVP emphasized the urgent need for greater attention and resources directed towards elevating the standard of education in the region. They stressed the importance of ensuring a conducive and enabling environment for students, educators and educational institutions to thrive.
ABVP demanded to provide well established and proper infrastructure in Central University of Jammu and Kashmir, setting up of National Law University at Jammu at the earliest, opening of Cluster based university in hilly terrains of Jammu Kashmir i.e, in Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban belt and Rajouri, Poonch belt so as to make education accessible to remotest areas.
ABVP also demanded opening residential schools in border areas so that the education of the wards living nearby border areas couldn’t get suffered and also demands to take proactive steps in strengthening Kendriya Vidyalayas in far flung areas besides upgrading the infrastructure of these schools as these are being run in rental accommodation and that too in 3-4 rooms which hampers the effective learning outcome.
ABVP National Secretary Ghulam Mustafa Ali, State President ABVP Dr Ajay Sharma, State Secretary Akshi Billowria, National Convener Students For Sewa, Muskaan Anand, Special Invitee in NEC Dr Permendr Singh, State Organising Secretary Tilak Thakur were part of this delegation.
