JAMMU, Dec 30: In a distinguished ceremony organized by Kashmir Peace Keepers (KPL) in the NCR region, senior advocate Ashok Bhan was conferred with the prestigious Citizen Award by Mool Chand Sharma, Minister of Higher Education.
The event witnessed a significant turnout, acknowledging Bhan’s exceptional contributions to society.

Apart from his role as a bar leader and senior executive member of the Supreme Court Bar Association, Bhan is a distinguished international law expert.
He has represented the Republic of India at the UN General Assembly, addressing critical issues like cross-border terrorism in Southeast Asia.
His historic role as the first non-parliamentarian representative in the UN General Assembly underscored his commitment to global concerns.
Ashok Bhan’s influence extends to diplomatic and conflict resolution domains, where he has represented parties at the United Nations Human Rights Commission in Geneva. Acknowledged as a Track-II diplomat, Bhan is renowned for his expertise in geopolitical conflict resolutions.
Adding to his accolades, Bhan is a chamber door tenant with a prominent law Chambers in London and a distinguished fellow with the United Services of India (USI), a strategic think tank for Armed forces on geopolitical affairs. He chairs the think tank “Kashmir (Policy and Strategy) Group.”
The son of veteran freedom fighter SN Bhan, a close associate of late Pt Kashyap Bandu in the socio-political movement of the Kashmiri Pandit Community, Ashok Bhan carries forward a legacy of service and commitment.
In addition to his legal prowess, Bhan is a regular columnist and public speaker, sharing his insights at various universities and contributing columns to esteemed publications such as Indian Express, Sunday Guardian, and leading Jammu and Kashmir dailies.
