30 bovines rescued

UDHAMPUR, Dec 31: Udhampur Police foiled separate attempts of bovine smuggling and rescued 30 bovines. Three vehicles, which were being used for the bovine smuggling, were also seized by the Police.
Team of Police Station Majalta foiled two bovine smuggling bids and rescued 26 bovines, which were being smuggled in a truck and tanker, bearing registration number JK03- 2115 and JK03B- 9363. Both the vehicles were intercepted and seized at Battal Naka Point.
In this regard, two FIRs under relevant sections of law have been registered in Police Station Majalta.
Foiling one more bovine smuggling case, Police team of Police Station Udhampur rescued four bovines from the vehicle bearing registration number JK03C- 0130, which was also seized. In this regard, FIR number 661/2023 U/S 188 IPC was registered in Police Station Udhampur.
During the year 2023, Udhampur Police have registered 336 cases of bovine smuggling in which 225 vehicles were seized, 340 accused were arrested and 3643 bovines were rescued.
