Fix share of OBCs before referring posts to PSC, JKPSC: AIBCU

JAMMU, Jan 2: All India Backward Classes Union (AIBCU) has urged the JKUT Administration to fix and include the share of OBCs in the lists being referred by various Government departments to the J&K Public Service Commission and SSB.
A meeting of the AIBCU, Social under the chairmanship of Abdul Majid Malik was held here today in which the members discussed in detail the matter with regard to referring of posts to JKSSB and JKPSC without granting reservation to the OBCs as per new Reservation Amendment Bill 2023. This will cause great loss to the candidates of OBC community.
It was pleaded that OBCs quota as per new amendment be fixed and declared and posts be referred after providing reservation to the OBC community as per its due share. They said since January 15 has been declared as the date and many departments have failed to submit lists even till today, It is therefore, requested that this deadline be extended and process postponed till the reservation to the OBCs is finally declared, whether it is 4 % or more.
They further demanded that Mandal Commission recommendations, providing 27 % quota to the OBCs be implemented in the Jammu and Kashmir. The Central Government is already providing 27 pc reservation to the OBCs and in J&K also Mandal Report be implemented without any further delay.
Prominent among those who participated in the meeting included- Gurmeet Singh, KK Fotra, Som Lal, Brij Mehra, S C Verma, Ashiq Hussain, Abdul Razak and Kali Dass.
