KATHMANDU, Jan 3: At least two agreements, including one on long-term energy cooperation, are expected to be signed during the seventh meeting of the Nepal-India Joint Commission, slated to begin here from Thursday, official sources said here.
The two-day meeting will conclude on Friday, Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a media release.
The meeting would be co-chaired by India’s Minister for External Affairs S Jaishankar and his Nepalese counterpart NP Saud.
“The Joint Commission meeting will review the overall state of bilateral relations and various areas of mutual cooperation,” Nepal’s Foreign Affairs ministry was quoted as saying in the Nepalese media.
The Indian foreign secretary will arrive in Kathmandu tomorrow for the meeting, The Kathmandu Post reported.
The two countries are expected to sign at least two agreements related to long-term energy cooperation and India’s proposal to increase funds for small development projects under the High-impact Community Development Projects (HICDPs) during Jaishankar’s visit, officials said. (UNI)
