BHADERWAH, Jan 3: Dradhu Panchayat which has earned a name for itself for implementing schemes of Union Government and becoming a symbol of successful three tier Panchayat Raj system has added another feather to its cap by becoming the first Panchayt in Chenab valley to install CCTV cameras.
Dradhu Panchayat in Bhaderwah which came to limelight in 2020 after winning national award for becoming the ‘Most Child Friendly Panchayat’ of J&K, has taken a step further to become a model Panchayat by installing CCTV cameras thereby becoming the first in Chenab valley to do so.
After installing the cams, the CCTV Control Room was established at Panchayat Ghar which was inaugurated by ADC Bhaderwah, Dilmir Choudhary along with BDO, Anup Sharma.
Ashok Sharma, who has received many national and UT level awards for his progressive and proactive approach to make this Panchayt a model of development, said that CCTV cameras have been installed from the savings of CAPEX budget.
“Our Panchayat is located on Bhaderwah-Doda Highway and incidents of theft of tyres of the parked vehicles and batteries of street solar lights were often reported. Installation of CCTV Cams will surely help us to check such cases,” said Ashok Sharma.
“Dradhu Panchayat and its Sarpanch are always ahead of others and this progressive and proactive move will surely help administration to maintain and regulate traffic besides keeping an eye on wrong elements,” said ADC Choudhary.
