JAMMU, Jan 4: A grand religious function was organized by Temples & Shrines Prabandhak Committee Tral Awantipora at Community Hall Muthi near here today in connection with celebration of Maha Kali Jayanti.
Hundreds of devotees drawn from different parts of Jammu participated in the celebrations. The Temples and Shrines Prabandhak Committee Tral is a subsidiary organization of Nawdal Tirath Committee where annual culmination ceremony in connection with Swami Amarnath Ji is held.
The main attraction of the celebrations apart from Maha Yagya is the Rudra Maha Abisheka of Shiv Parvati made of soil brought from Kashmir symbolizing Amreshwar Mahadev of Nawdal where the culmination of annual Amarnath Ji yatra takes place after immersion of relics.
The Hawn started yesterday evening and culminated this afternoon with Puran Ahuti and distribution of Prasad to devotees. Prominent people from different walks of life attended the religious function and paid obeisance to Deity. They included Swami Kumar Ji, social activists Hira Lal Bhat, MK Yogi, Bal Krishan Sanyasi, Dr T K Bhat, Brij Hali, Pinto Ji, Kamal Ganjoo, M K Koul, Prof P N Dhar, P N Raina, Jai Krishan Koul and others. Veer Ji Raina was the Yajman and all the Executive members of the Prabandhak Committee led by its president Dr Ramesh Bhat organized the function.
