JAMMU, Jan 4: Apni Party president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari today met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi and demanded that the security agencies must ensure zero collateral damage during anti-militancy operations in Jammu and Kashmir.
Bukhari, representing the sentiments of the people in the Union Territory, urged the Home Minister to ensure justice for the Poonch victims, highlighting the importance of respecting the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
Responding to these concerns, Home Minister Amit Shah assured Bukhari that stringent measures would be taken to prevent future civilian casualties. He pledged that those responsible for the recent tragic incidents in Poonch would face the full force of the law.
Beyond the security issues, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari drew the Home Minister’s attention to the ongoing power crisis in Jammu and Kashmir.
With the region grappling with harsh winter conditions, Bukhari stressed the urgent need for additional electricity supply to meet the pressing needs of the residents.
The statement further said that he appealed to Amit Shah, stating, “the people of Jammu and Kashmir are suffering due to the power shortage crisis in these harsh winter days. There is an urgent need for additional power supply to the UT so that pressing needs are fulfilled.”
Bukhari urged the Home Minister to utilize his influence to ensure an extra amount of power supply to Jammu and Kashmir.
