Rajiv Charak warns JDA against commercialisation of Green Zones

JAMMU, Jan 5: Senior BJP leader, Rajeev Charak expressed anguish over Jammu Development Authority (JDA) move to auction land of the community hall located in Mohalla Goswami of New JDA Colony, Bahu Fort, Jammu.
Charak informed that a deputation of people met him and appraised that JDA is going to auction the Green Zone land for commercial propose.
The deputation stated that wherever a colony is built, green strip i.e. park and playground facility for children is to be provided. The deputation apprised the senior leaders that in this particular colony, there is neither a playground nor a green strip. Deputation added that earlier a community hall was built here, but its work was not completed. The deputation expressed shock over the information that the land adjacent to it has been sold by the JDA.
The deputation stated that the JDA is not keeping in mind the necessary public facilities and the area is being exploited for commercial reasons, which is not acceptable to any local resident.
Senior BJP leader, Rajeev Charak listened to their issue carefully. He stated that as per the directions of the Supreme Court of India, a green zone should be created in every colony to keep the environment clean and healthy.
Warning the JDA, Charak said that commercialization of green strip or green zone will not be allowed. He also met the officials of JDA and informed them about the problems faced by the people of New JDA Colony, Bahu Fort.
