DC discusses action plan to foster tourism in Kishtwar

KISHTWAR, Jan 6: Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Devansh Yadav spearheaded a pivotal meeting with key stakeholders from the tourism sector, here today.
The focus was to deliberate on strategies and modalities to formulate proposals for the Challenge Based Destination Development initiative, as directed by the Ministry of Tourism’s Swadesh Darshan Division.
The meeting witnessed the participation of CEO Kishtwar Development Authority, Dr. Rishi Kumar Sharma, DFO Marwah Vijay Kumar, Wildlife Warden Chenab Division Kishtwar Majid Bashir, Hoteliers, Social Media Influencers and other stakeholders.
Dr. Yadav highlighted the imperative nature of the proposals sought under specific thematic categories aligned with the scheme guidelines. Stressing on the significance of these proposals, he emphasized that each District Management Organization, under District Collectors, can submit a single proposal focusing on thematic categories such as Spiritual Tourism, Culture and Heritage, Vibrant Village Programme, Eco-Tourism, and Amrit Dharohar sites.
Following an extensive deliberation on the guidelines and application formats, Dr. Yadav urged members to collaborate and prepare a comprehensive proposal adhering to the application format. The goal is to finalize this proposal within a strict timeline of 05 days for subsequent submission to higher authorities.
Additionally, the meeting covered diverse topics concerning the augmentation of tourism potential within the district. Valuable insights and suggestions were shared by attendees to fortify the district’s tourism landscape.
Of note, media influencers and vloggers were encouraged to create engaging video content on social media platforms, amplifying Kishtwar’s tourism allure. Moreover, the district’s tourism website underwent a comprehensive review during the session.
This meeting marks a pivotal step towards leveraging Kishtwar’s tourism potential, fostering collaboration among stakeholders, and laying the groundwork for robust and sustainable tourism development in the region.
