JAMMU, Jan 6: Former Deputy Mayor, Jammu and senior BJP leader, Baldev Singh Billawaria kick started the slab work of the Community Center of Atal Ji Park located at Gangyal Ward No. 56.
Speaking on the occasion, Billawaria said that this place used to have Ram Leela 50 year ago, which is not held now due to which people have lost interest. While some people are eying on encroaching this land, it is our first foremost duty to protect it and save it from the encroachers so that some work could be done for the good of the people.
He said that people had been demanding proper use of this land for a long time, for which funds were sanctioned from the Government and Atal Ji Park was carved out at this place. He further said that slab work has been started today for the construction of a community center in the park, which fulfils the pending demand of the people. The people of the area and surrounding will be especially benefited.
He said that the BJP party is working towards redressing the problems faced by the people of weaker and backward sections of the society and it is indeed a matter of satisfaction for him that he has been able to make some kind of expansion. He said that during his tenure as Deputy Mayor, he was always engaged in working for the welfare of the society.
He said that a sum of money has been earmarked for the beautification of Atal Ji Park but if needed, more funds will be made available to complete the work. He said the Modi Government is committed to the overall development of the people with special focus on infrastructure development and social welfare.
Later, former Deputy Mayor inaugurated the camp of various government schemes at Ward 48 Gorkha Nagar in Bahu constituency. Billawaria said that cards for various schemes of more than 50 people are being made every day in the camp in which most of the people are taking benefits of the recently started Vishwakarma Scheme and getting themselves registered with the scheme.
