UDHAMPUR, Jan 6: Udhampur Police foiled attempts of bovine smuggling and apprehended five smugglers besides recuing 56 cattle.
Team of Police Station Chenani intercepted two vehicles bearing registration number JK02CS-4092 and JK19A-2075 and rescued 22 bovines.
While one bovine smuggler managed to escape, two other smugglers namely Khalid Ahmed son of Mohd Iqbal of Anantnag, Mohd Nazir son of Ghulam Mohd of R S Pura were arrested. In this regard, cases FIRs were registered in PS Chenani.
In another case of bovine smuggling, team of Police Station Udhampur, apprehnded three smugglers and rescued 34 bovines, loaded in three vehicles bearing registration number JK02DD-7950, JK14B-8523 and JK02K-2835 at Jakhani naka point, Udhampur.
The accused smugglers, namely Reham Ali, son of Mirza of Janipur, Jammu, Asghar Ali son of Mohd Shafi of Jagti, Nagrota and Liakat Ali son of Noor Moh of Ramban were arrested.
In this regard, FIRs were registered in Police Station Udhampur.
