Will hold comprehensive review of development works
*HM to distribute job letters among newly recruited youth

JAMMU, Jan 7: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will address a rally at Gulshan Ground here in heart of the City in connection with ongoing Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) and also hold comprehensive review of development works in Jammu and Kashmir besides initiating several new projects during his day-long visit to the Jammu region on January 9.
He will also handover appointment letters to the newly recruited youth.
Party leaders said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit is also expected to take place either by the end of this month or start of next month.
It will be first high-profile visit of the year in Jammu and first major review of developmental works of the Union Territory by Amit Shah.
As per the officials, the Home Minister will address a massive rally at Gulshan Ground Jammu in connection with VBSY. Large number of people are expected to attend the rally for which necessary preparations are going on. The VBSY has been going on in every nook and corner of Jammu and Kashmir benefitting large number of people. It will gain further momentum with Shah addressing the rally. The Yatra is scheduled to last till January 26.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will also address the rally.
The BJP UT unit has also geared up to mobilize people for the rally.
The Home Minister will hold detailed review of development projects in Jammu and Kashmir at a high-level meeting scheduled to be held at the Raj Bhawan. LG Manoj Sinha, Union Home Secretary AK Bhalla and senior officers of the civil administration are expected to attend the meeting.
Sources said Shah will launch some projects in the Union Territory.
During last four years, many new projects have been launched in Jammu and Kashmir both under Central Schemes as well as UT sector. A number of works have been going on under the Centrally Sponsored Schemes, Prime Minister’s Development Plan (PMDP) etc. The UT administration has also taken up multiple works/projects including many of those which were pending for last several years.
Shah is also scheduled to distribute appointment letters among the newly recruited youth in Jammu and Kashmir.
Sources said after Shah’s tour, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also expected to undertake one-day visit to the UT during which he is expected to visit Jammu and Srinagar, announce several new projects and inaugurate many projects. The visit has been proposed by the end of January or start of February.
Shah had reviewed the security situation of Jammu and Kashmir with top functionaries of the Central Government and Jammu and Kashmir administration on January 2 in New Delhi.
In that meeting, he had instructed the strengthening of the counter-terrorism operations in Jammu and Kashmir and stressed on complete elimination of terror eco-system.
While advising the security agencies for appropriate deployment in vulnerable areas in the Union Territory, Shah stressed that all due procedures should be adopted while dealing with counter-terror operations.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, Chief of Army staff (CoAS) General Manoj Pande and top officials of intelligence and other security agencies attended that meeting.
