NOWSHERA, Jan 8: In a resounding tribute to their sacrifices and service, hundreds of Ex-servicemen from across Rajouri district of Jammu region converged at Shaheedgarh, Qila Dharal, in Lam sector for the grand culmination of the Ex-servicemen rally today.
Organized by Tain Rashtriya Rifles, under the aegis of Romeo Force, the rally echoed with the shared stories and unwavering patriotism of those, who dedicated their lives to the nation beyond celebrating veterans day, the event served as a vital platform for addressing concerns and ensuring the well-being of Ex-servicemen, Veer Naris and their families.
From pension benefits to centralized medical facilities, the rally sought to bridge the gap between veterans and the resources they deserve. Resolving concerns, the rally commenced with the inspiring words of senior ex-servicemen. Indian Army’s unwavering commitment to veterans welfare resonated through the gathering, as did the assurance of support for improvement and upliftment initiatives.
Over 175 Ex-servicemen from across the region, actively participated. Eager to raise their voices and find solutions to their concern, this wasn’t just an Army affair, the civil administration, career counselling organizations and local banks, all joined hands to extend their support.
Representatives from each entity informed the veterans about various government schemes and resources at their disposal, empowering them to claim their rightful benefits, The rally wasn’t solely focused on practicalities, the local students took the stage with vibrant cultural performances, a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by these veterans to secure a peaceful future for generations to come.
Gallantry award winners Hony Capt (Retd) Ajit Singh and Naik (Retd) Chowdhury Ram, added a touch of inspirational history to the event.
The rally wasn’t just an event, it was a reaffirmation of the bond between the Indian Army, Rashtriya Rifles and the Ex-servicemen community. It showcased the Armed forces unwavering commitment to recognizing the veterans’ invaluable contributions and ensuring their well-being. In return, the veterans expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the Army’s role in maintaining peace in Jammu & Kashmir and creating opportunities for youth and women through recruitment, empowerment projects and skill development initiatives.
