CUJ VC inaugurates FDP on Indian Knowledge Systems

JAMMU, Jan 9: The UGC-Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (MMTTC) at Central University of Jammu is hosting a comprehensive Faculty Development Program (FDP) from January 9th to 18th, 2024.
Designed to offer an in-depth orientation and sensitization on Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), this FDP aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020’s objectives.
During the inaugural event, Prof Sanjeev Jain, Vice Chancellor CUJ, highlighted University’s commitment to embracing and promoting traditional knowledge systems in contemporary education. In light of the dynamic nature of teaching-learning pedagogy, development of faculty in all disciplines is the highest priority of our University, he added.
Dr Neelika Arora, Director of UGC-MMTTC, Central University of Jammu, informed that this FDP program is the second in the series that the centre is slated to offer. The FDP program includes 170 faculty members from various educational institutions across India, aiming to bridge the gap between traditional Indian knowledge and modern pedagogical methods. She also informed that the MMTTC is designed to implement the key changes to the current higher education system to revamp and reenergize it and thereby deliver high-quality higher education with equity and inclusion.
The inaugural session was conducted by Dr Amita Gupta. While presenting a formal vote of thanks, Dr Bijender Kumar informed that the eminent experts from different universities across the country will be conducting the session during the next ten days.
Dr Neelika Arora leads the initiative alongside Dr Akshay Kumar, the Deputy Director. Dr Bijender Kumar, Program Coordinator, and Dr Amita Gupta, Program Co-Coordinator, have been instrumental in shaping the program’s structure and content.
