Many parties jointly demand Statehood restoration

JAMMU, Jan 9: Shiv Sena (UBT) and Sainik Samaj Party (SSP) here today organized an all-party meet to protest against the alleged collapse of democratic institutions in J&K, increasing terrorist incidents and the dictatorial attitude of the electricity department.
Talking to reporters after the meeting Shiv Sena leader, Manish Sahni said after assembly, the tenure of Panchayats has also been completed and the reorganized J&K today is completely devoid of public representatives.
“The electricity department is on top of its dictatorship with consumers and the public being troubled by the irregularities in power bills while for the delay in paying these bills, domestic power connections are being cut off,” the Shiv Sena leader maintained.
He further said that terrorist incidents are continuously increasing in Rajouri-Poonch area of Jammu division. All the leaders present in the meeting pledged to raise voice against all the issues.
They also demanded restoration of democratic process in J&K with full Statehood before Lok Sabha elections.
About two dozen social and political organizations including social activist and retired Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Ravi; Narendra Kumar, IDP; Human Rights Council president, Sunny Kant Chib; Sukhdev Singh, social worker; Muhammad Mansoor, senior journalists; Haknawaz, Jagbir Singh, Inder Dev Singh, Farooq Ahmed, Gulshan Bano, Meenakshi Chhibber, Vikas Bakshi, Balwant Singh, Sanjeev Kohli, Raj Singh, Mangu Ram, Sunil Dutt, Sarisata Devi, Gulshan Ara and others were also present in the meeting.
