JAMMU, Jan 9: Sarpanch Khandwal, Sonam Deep Singh Aulakh along with BDO Phallain Mandal, Kirandeep Kour here today inaugurated a public library room at a Community Hall in Khandwal.
The library, established with financial help from Department of Rural Development aims to facilitate the youth in pursuing their studies and preparing for competitive exams.
Panch, Bodh Raj and Panchayat Secretary, Ramneek Singh also graced the occasion with their presence along with several prominent people of the area.
Speaking on the occasion, Aulakh said, the library will serve as a resource hub for the youth allowing them to continue their studies and prepare for competitive exams.
In his farewell speech to the people he said that he was delighted to witness positive transformations in education and health sector in the area under his leadership.
Aulakh further pledged to undertake more such initiatives.
BDO Kirandeep Kour said that Aulakh has set a commendable precedent.
She also said that she looks forward to see more public libraries inaugurated in the block.
