JAMMU, Jan 9: Police claimed today they have arrested three persons in connection with a firing incident at Kamal Nagar, Thathar, Bantalab.
According to police, two groups fired at each other on December 31, 2023.
They said a case FIR number 384/2023 Under Sections 307/160/323 IPC and 3/4/25 Arms Act was registered at Police Station Domana following the incident to investigate the matter.
During investigation, police said, special teams of Police Post Chinnore led by incharge Police Post rounded up three suspects for questioning. They were identified as Sandeep Khajuria of Raipur, Bantalab, Suresh Kumar of Tallab Tillo, and Akabar Ali of Gurha Brahmana, Bantalab.
During sustained questioning, they said, the accused confessed to their involvement in the crime and on their disclosure, two pistols and five live rounds were recovered from their possession.
As more arrests are likely in the case, further investigation is underway.
