Theft case worked out

JAMMU, Jan 9: With the arrest of an individual, police in Gangyal area here claimed today they have solved a theft case.
A police spokesperson said that on January 6th, 2024, a theft of some cash and mechanical parts worth around Rs 5 lakh was reported in TaTa Fair Deal workshop, Kunjwani.
On this, he said, a case FIR number 6/2024 Under Section 457/380 of the IPC was registered at Police Station Gangyal and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, the police spokesperson said that a suspect identified as Avtar Singh of Baba Fareed Nagar, was detained for questioning, who confessed to his involvement in the crime during sustained investigation.
On the disclosure of the accused, the stolen mechanical parts and the cash have been recovered, he added.
The arrest and recovery was made by a team of Police Station Gangyal led by SHO Gangyal, Inspector Jaswinder Singh under the supervision of ASP Kartik, SDPO South, and Shaheen Wahid, SP South under the overall supervision of SSP Jammu, Vinod Kumar.
