Thief held for stealing aluminium wire

RAMBAN, Jan 9: Police here today arrested a man who was involved in the theft of aluminium coated wire laid on railway track between Sangaldan and Dharam.
Police sources informed that a complaint was received at Police Station Gool from Mohammad Ishaq, an employee of Savronik Company Sangaldan regarding theft of aluminium copper coated wire laid on the railway track amounting to Rs. 50,000-60,000 approx.
Based on the complaint a case was registered at Police Station Gool and investigation started and a special Police team was constituted by SSP Ramban, Mohita Sharma to trace the thief and to recover the stolen material.
During investigation, several suspects were rounded up for questioning and after strenuous efforts one suspect Altaf Ahmed, son of Abdul Rashid, resident of Salbala Gool confessed the crime.
On his disclosure the stolen wire was recovered.
Police Sources said that the accused named two more persons Irfan Ahmed, son of Ghulam Nabi and Tariq Ahmed, son of Mohd Sadiq, both residents of Sangaldan for their involvement in the crime.
The arrest and recovery were affected by the cops from Police Station Gool under the overall supervision of SSP Ramban.
A case in FIR number 01 of 2024 Under Section 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Gool in this regard and investigations started.
