DCC discusses strategy for Lok Sabha elections

JAMMU, Jan 10: District Congress Committee (DCC) Jammu Urban today discussed strategy for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.
A meeting of DCC Jammu Urban was held here today under the presidentship of Manmohan Singh at Congress office in which the preparation and strategy for forthcoming Parliamentary elections was discussed, besides general problems of people were highlighted.
Speaking on the occasion, DCC president asked the party functionaries to gear up themselves for the elections to the Lok Sabha, JMC and Assembly whenever held. He said that Block and Ward committees would be strengthened further in order to gear up the Urban district for the ensuing elections in the state.
He exhorted upon Block and Ward presidents to convene meetings in their respective blocks and wards to aware people about the policies and programmes of Congress Party.
Manmohan Singh further said that we must try to win the trust and confidence of the people and spread the policies and programmes of the party as well. He appealed the party functionaries to liberally contribute in the ‘Donate for Desh’ fund launched by AICC.
DCC leader said BJP leadership in the state always sincerely followed the dictates of BJP high command and bartered the interests of Jammu. He said that the `so called’ champions of Jammu utterly failed to represent the aspirations of people and safeguard their interests, be it educated youth, farmers, traders or employees/workers and betrayed the trust reposed in BJP by the Jammu people. Now, the people are eagerly waiting to teach a lesson to the BJP in the Parliament as well as in Assembly and Local Bodies elections.
Senior leaders, Dr RK Khajuria, Pawan Dev Singh, Vijay Malhotra, Atul Sharma, Sat Pal Sapolia, Nageshwar, Pawan Sharma, Rakesh Sharma, Sanjeev Katal, Latish Sharma,, Kewal Jogi, Som Nat Sharma, Chander Shekhar Sharma, Manmohan Sharma, Danesh Verma and others also spoke on the occasion.
