REASI, Jan 10: Reasi Police today arrested a narcotic smuggler in Pouni and recovered 2.24 kg cannabis like narcotic substance, which was being smuggled by him in a car.
According to Police, a team of Police Station Pouni was on traffic duty in Domail area when they stopped an Alto car bearing registration number JK17-2289, which was coming from Reasi towards Bhambla.
During checking of the car, 2.24 kg cannabis like substance was found wrapped inside maize husk in window panels of the car.
On questioning, the car driver identified himself as Javed Ahmed son of Ghulam Rasool Mir of Melhoora, Tehsil Zainapora, District Shopian. Police arrested the accused and seized the recovered narcotic substance as well as the car.
A case under NDPS Act was registered in this connection at P/S Pouni and further investigation was going on. The whole operation was led by SHO Pouni under the supervision of DySP Hqrs. Reasi.
