JAMMU, Jan 10: All J&K RTC Volunteer Retired Employees Association held a strong protest here today near Maharaja Hari Singh Park, Jammu for not clearing their pending dues.
The protest was held under the leadership of Dev Raj Bali, President of VRS Union Jammu.  He strongly criticized the behavior of the Finance Department and Higher Authorities of the Transport Department. They claimed that they have time and again raised their long pending demands of arrears of COLA, 6th Pay Commissioner and DA arrears, but authorities have turned blind eye and completely failed to address their issues.
“We are struggling for the same for the last more than 12 years and during this time, 55 retired employees from Jammu province lost their lives because they were unable to afford proper medical treatment due to financial constraints, causing irreversible losses to their families.” Bali said.
Protesters urged Central Government to personally take the cognizance of their long pending legitimate demands and send a package especially for the retired employees of JKRTC, Jammu as they have already suffered a lot and are still struggling for the same as there is nobody here to listen to their miseries. The total liability of 740 VRS/ retired employees of Jammu province are Rs 66, 24, 21,998.08. Sat Bhushan Singh, Surinder Singh, Balwinder Singh, P.P Singh, Ramesh Bhau, Suraj Singh and others were present on this occasion.
