JAMMU, Jan 10: Chief spokesperson of Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP), Salman Nizami, has raised a critical concern regarding the prolonged delay in releasing payments under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA).
“A significant number of poor labourers, who heavily rely on these payments for their livelihoods, are facing distress due to the extended period of non-payment,” said Samlan Nizami in a statement issued today. He added that the delay has left many families in dire financial situations, as they solely depend on MGNREGA payments to meet their basic needs.
Nizami, echoing the sentiments of the affected labourers, urged immediate attention to this matter to alleviate the suffering of those dependent on these payments. “It is imperative that concerned authorities take swift action to expedite the release of pending MGNREGA payments, ensuring that the labourers receive the financial support they desperately need,” he asserted.
