JAMMU, Jan 10: A drug peddler was arrested with heroin worth approximately Rs 25 lakh in the international market from Sidhra area here today.
A police spokesperson said that a team of Police Station Nagrota led by SHO Nagrota, Inspector Vishav Partap Singh, while on naka duty near Batra Hospital, rounded up a suspected person around 12 noon.
On search of the suspect, later identified as Manzoor Ahmed Wani of Bongam, Hirpora, Shopian, 588 grams of heroin worth approximately Rs 25 lakh in the international market was recovered, he said.
Accordingly, the accused has been booked in case FIR number 16/2023 Under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Nagrota and further investigation taken up.
