Vibodh urges BJYM leaders to connect with new voters

JAMMU, Jan 11: Jammu and Kashmir BJP general secretary and former MLC, Vibodh Gupta, chaired a review meeting in connection with ‘Voter Chetna Abhiyaan’.
Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) National Media incharge and Prabhari of J&K BJYM and J&K BJYM president, Arun Prabhat Singh also addressed in the meeting, which was attended by the Morcha office bearers.
Vibodh Gupta, while speaking in the meeting, said that Voter Chetna Abhiyaan is a nationwide exercise to be undertaken on National Voter Day falling on January 24 this month, which will be addressed by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
He said that every adult citizen of India has been given the privilege by the Constitution to get registered as voter, vote and elect his/her representative to the Parliament, Assembly and other such decision making bodies. Every single vote is of great significance, without any favour or discrimination, he said.
“Any Indian registered as voter can poll his vote in the election and be part of the development and welfare processes in the country”, Vibodh said and added that the BJYM should take the ‘Voter Chetna Abhiyaan’ at Assembly segment level and ensure enrolment of at least one thousand new voters in every Assembly segment on January 24.
Gupta also stressed on creating awareness among the young generation about the importance of voting and said that one should not get registered as a voter just for the sake of getting an identity card.
Amandeep Singh asked the Morcha cadre to undertake the exercise to enrol new voters at the ground level. He said that the party’s Morcha activists are already undertaking the youth issues on priority and now it is the prime responsibility of the Morcha activists of the party to ensure that no eligible youth is left behind.
Arun Prabhat Singh shared the preparatory details related to the smooth conduct of the Voter Chetna Abhiyaan exercise in every Assembly constituency in Jammu Kashmir with the party leaders. He said that the fixed target will be achieved as the entire team of the Morcha is going to be actively involved at the ground level for the event.
