JAMMU, Jan 11: Sanjay Baru, BJP senior leader and former councillor asked the highway authorities to close down the crossings at Kamla Palace point and another near New Toph bridge on the Jammu-Akhnoor Highway. He asked the authorities to provide the median-gaps on both sides but at some distance from Kamla Palace interlinking road to avoid the road-jams and fatal accidents.
Baru also took up another issue with the authorities to provide a clear access to the general public to cross the road by providing a gap in the grills (to be installed) in front of BSF Headquarter Paloura.
Sanjay Baru accompanied by the local BJP leaders and the residents of the area called upon the highway authorities on the spot to discuss the issues that have been haunting the locals and the commuters alike. He briefed the authorities that the crossings cited may see wrong crossing by the vehicles, which may cause loss to human lives.
Sanjay Baru insisted that the concerned authorities need to take the serious note and prompt action to address this traffic nuisance issue, which may even cause some fatal accident in near future if not taken care of.
He pointed out that the technical error in the designing of the pillars and the gaps in the median as well as the crossings for the pedestrians need review at various points along the whole stretch of the highway.
Baru assured the people of Talab Tillo area that every single problem faced by them will be highlighted at the appropriate level and no stone left unturned to get relief for them. He said that any one from Talab Tillo can meet him and discuss his/her problem with him, which will be taken seriously and every effort made to make sure that no one faces any difficulty in day to day life.
