SAMBA, Jan 12: The vibrant Lohri festival resonated through the historic Samba Fort today, marking a joyous celebration organized by the District Administration, Samba in collaboration with the Directorate of Tourism, JKAACL and the active participation of the civil society.
The event featured a rich display of Dogra art and culture through various cultural activities. Students adorned in traditional Dogra dresses showcased the cultural diversity through a captivating ramp walk, while a spirited competition unfolded as students demonstrated their skills in crafting Chajja.
Amidst the rhythmic Vedic chants, Lohri Poojan took center stage, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere. Subsequently, the audience was treated to the sumptuous Dogra Dhaam, an array of traditional delicacies.
Distinguished personalities, including the Chairman DDC  Keshav Dutt Sharma, Vice-Chairman DDC Balwan Singh, and Deputy Commissioner Samba Abhishek Sharma, Padam Shri Mohan Singh Slathia and Secretary JKAACL Bharat Singh graced the occasion added their presence, contributing to the festive spirit and cultural richness of the event.
