KATRA, Jan 13: Local businessmen and representatives of various organizations have formed Holy Town Katra Stakeholders Development Forum and elected former MLA Baldev Raj Sharma as its President.
A meeting in this connection was organized here today with representatives of various business as well other organizations. During the meeting, many issues were discussed, like ropeway project in Katra by Mukhta Shrine Board, six lane corridor reaching Katra, Prasad project approved by the Central Government and overall development of Katra.
The participating members unanimously decided to set up an apex body for effectively projecting the issues of Katra people in general and business class in particularly.
For election of the office bearers of new forum, secret voting was held under the leadership of senior advocate Kuldeep Dubey. Katra Bar Association President Pravesh and Advocate Shubham were also involved in the voting process.
With 95 percent votes in his favour, former MLA Baldev Raj Sharma was elected President of the Holy Town Katra Stakeholder Development Forum. Former President of District Reasi Bar Association and senior advocate Kuldeep Dubey was nominated as General Secretary. Similarly, Rakesh Wazir, President of Katra Hotel and Restaurant Association; Sher Singh, President of Soft Drink Organization Katra; Sardar Sardari Lal Dubey , President of Trikuta Valley Development Forum Katra; Rajkumar Pada, President of Chamber of Tourism Trade and Industry Katra were nominated as members.
The meeting was attended by representatives of Katra Hotel and Restaurant Association, Chamber of Tourism Trade and Industry Katra, Bar Association Katra, Senior Citizen Welfare Forum, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Press Club Katra, Tour and Travel Association Katra, Religious Tour Operator Association, Kariana Union Katra, Dhaba Union Katra, Dry Fruits Union Katra, Confectioner Union Katra, Shawl Union Katra, Jewelery Association Katra, Soft Drink Organization Katra, Photographer Union Katra, Chemist Association Katra, Morning Walker Group, Rotary Club Katra , Trikoot Valley Development Forum Katra and Sahas Hi Zindagi etc. They also participated in the voting.
On this occasion, the newly appointed President of the Forum, Baldev Raj Sharma said that the burning issues of Katrawill be effectively taken up before the concerned authorities for proper resolution of the same.
