JAMMU, Jan 14: A delegation of Vedic Brahmans/ Acharya Brahmans from the several states including J&K, under the banner All India Vedic Brahman Kalyan Parishad (VBKP), called on the Lok Sabha Speaker, Om Birla and assured to support the Union Government in its efforts to promote Vedic and `Sanatan’ culture in the interest of the country.
Led by national president of the Vedic Brahman Kalyan Parishad, Subhash Kaushik from Gurugram (Haryana), the delegation met the Lok Sabha Speaker at his official residence, the other day and also projected several issues of the Acharya Brahman community and sought support and cooperation from the Modi Government.
The members of the delegation while felicitating the Speaker, lauded the efforts of Modi Government in the promotion of Vedic/Sanatan culture and Sanskrit language in the country and protection/face-lift of major worship places of the `Sanatanis’ in the country.
Kaushik assured full support of the Vedic Brahman community in the country to the Modi Government for its sincere efforts in the promotion of Vedic/Sanatani culture, Sanskrit language, Gurukuls and facelift of major pilgrimage centres/temples of the Sanatanis in the country.
On this occasion, a book on Shaheed Jai Mangal Pandey, a great Freedom fighter of 1857 mutiny, was offered to the LS Speaker by the 7th descedant of the Jai Mangal Pandey, Sachidanand Pandey and requested the Speaker to provide proper respect and place to this great Freedom fighter of Hazaribagh, Jharkhand. The Speaker assured to take up the issue with the Government.
Prominent among those who accompanied the delegation included-Nand Kishore from Jaipur, Prem Sharma from Jammu, MC Chairman from Haryana Raju Kaushik, Ashutosh Acharya- Municipal Commissioner from Rajasthan, Arjun Acharya Revenue officer from Jodhpur, Rishidutt & Pawan Tripathi from UP, Devkishan, Muni Lal and others.
